Specific Skills

At least 15 years of experience in airborne software development or testing, with a minimum of 5 years in a consulting or leadership role.
Expertise in safety-critical software development and certification processes, particularly following DO-178C.
Proven experience with DO-178 certification and compliance.
Successful working experience with at least one DAL A software item development and certification.
Experience working with and advising on software tools for development, testing, and certification.
Ability to provide training/mentoring to junior engineers.
Experience in an engineering leadership role.
Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to understand client needs, build relationships, and offer practical solutions that address business and technical challenges.
Flexibility to adapt consulting strategies to different client environments and requirements.
Experience in developing presentations and presenting to multiple levels of an organisation.
Experience in recognising and balancing conflicting priorities.
Experience in traditional engineering analytical methods and Aerospace Industry Standards (SAE ARP 4754A/B, SAE ARP 4761/A, RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-254).
RTCA SC-205 or EUROCAE WG-71 member (Desired).

Responsible For

Internally support the enhancement and improvement of airborne software development processes.
Provide expert guidance to clients on the design, development, and certification of airborne software systems, ensuring compliance with aviation standards such as DO-178C.
Develop and deliver customised consulting services, including technical reviews, process improvements, and safety-critical software solutions, tailored to clients' specific needs.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements and providing actionable solutions to meet both technical and regulatory goals.
Conduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations to educate client teams on airborne software development processes and standards.
Guide clients through software life cycle management, from initial concept planning to requirements definition, integration, testing, and certification.
Develop and implement tailored software development methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance client project outcomes.
Proactively identify and introduce new tools, techniques, and best practices that can improve software development and certification processes for clients.
Assist customers with software engineering reviews, including PPR, PDR, CDR, TRR, CR, etc.
Assist customers with software Stage of Involvement audits (SOI1-SOI4) from both customers and certification authorities, providing recommendations to address findings.

Additional Requirements

Work location : Shanghai, China.
Will travel in China according to the client's needs.

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics (Desired).
